Four-Alarm Fire in Brighton

Over one hundred Boston firefighters battled an early morning four-alarm blaze on Chestnut Hill Avenue in Brighton today. The fire destroyed a row of businesses which included a pizzeria, a catering company and a cleaners.

As a Guest

I've been to dozens of weddings in the past few years, so many in fact that I've lost count. But always as the photographer not as a guest, which is something I missed being up until yesterday when I was invited to watch my friends Eric & Brittaney tie the knot the the Witstariahurst Museum in Holyoke, MA. Of course I couldn't help but bring my camera and take a few pictures here and there but I'm proud to say I spent more time dancing than taking photographs, I figured I'd leave that to the hired professionals ;)

A few months back I photographed the GALVIN-ized Headwear runway show during Boston Fashion Week for friend Marie Galvin. (you can see those photos at http://nicoczar.blogspot.com/2011/09/yup-i-even-do-fashion.html )
I went over to Marie's shop in the South End over the weekend to see how the photos looked after Marie hung them up. Looks good, but like any photographer would say about his or her work hanging up, I wish they were bigger :)

"Best Week Ever!!"

"This has been the best week ever!!" I said as I saw Boston Globe Photographer & Boston Press Photographer Association President Bill Greene today at a press conference held by Boston Mayor Thomas Menino regarding staying safe during the Super Bowl this Sunday. Bill jokingly responded to me "This has been MY best week ever!!". We laughed. The joke here was that Bill and I have seen each other out on assignment everyday this week.
It began on Sunday with the New England Patriots Super Bowl send-off.
Monday- At an Occupy Boston Protest.
Tuesday- The wake for former Boston Mayor Kevin White.
Wednesday- The Funeral of former Mayor Kevin White.
Thursday (today)- Mayor Menino's press conference on Super Bowl safety in the city.
