G20 Summit Pittsburgh

I always wanted to photograph the G summits and the protests that come with them. When I heard that the gatherings outside the summit in Pittsburgh were getting a bit dicey I decided to flight out on a short notice to the Summit last night so I could spend the day today photographing the 8,000+ protesters and 1,000+ riot police throughout the streets. It was peaceful overall except for a moment when the riot police aimed their guns at the crowd with me right between the two. Take a look at the shot and image the feeling of having riot police only a few feet away from you aiming their high powered guns at you. Hair raising. I spent most of my day focusing on the authorities and their excess of strength, photographing their interactions with the crowds and Pittsburgh residents. I'm putting up a few quick shots and movie up tonight and will add more in the coming day or so. The video shows the best chant I heard all day "You're sexy! You're cute! Take off riot suit!"

Liz & Mark 9/5/09 Hanson, MA

Probably one of most fun weddings I've photographed. The dance floor was constantly filled with movers and shakers of all ages. The Hanson, MA lakeside venue was the perfect setting for formals.

2009 Red Bull Indianapolis MotoGP

A couple of weekends ago rather the spending my free time the usual way, surfing off Cape Cod, My roommate and I took a trip out to Indianapolis to watch the 2009 Red Bull Indianapolis MotoGP race. Amazing. These were the best of the best motorcycles racers in the world competed only feet away from us at speed topping 198mph. I wish these photos had sound so you could enjoy the powerful scream of their engines. I never studied sports photography or had a real interest in it but I think I did pretty well for my first time shooting sports with a long 400mm lens. here are some video clips i shot with the 5D mark II with a 100-400mm handheld, hence the shakiness.

After the wedding my close friend Sean Smith, who shot video for the Charlie & Arielle's wedding, and I took a few days to travel around the English countryside and we even made our way to the Welsh shore. Along the way we stopped by Stonehedge and a Steam Fair which is the equivalent of our county fairs, trackers, pigs and all. a majestic trip, simply put.

The summer has come to an end. With so much to share I'll keep the words short and the photos large. I took a trip to the United Kingdom last month to photograph the wedding of Charlie & Arielle in the English countryside which was probably the loveliest venue and wedding scene i have experienced yet. Everywhere I looked there was a photo to be taken, it was pure photo bliss. Here are just a few photos from the wedding for you to enjoy.
